RIP FRAN LANDESMAN: Queen of the Bohemians. Songwriter, poet, performer, and cultural icons. Fran & husband Jay opened the Crystal Palace club in St. Louis, which opened the gates to the world-famous niteclub district Gaslight Square. This area rivaled the French Quarter & Greenwich Village. Live jazz, beat poetry and restaurants were teaming with bohemians. She passed away July 23 at age 83 in London. She now joins Jay who passed last February at age 91. They now both certainly deserve a star on the St. Louis Walk of Fame after 2 failed nominations.
